    Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (Grade 7, depending on experience)
    Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Working Hours: 36 hours per week


    🏠 About the Role

    Southwark Council is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Homeownership Litigation Assistant to support legal and housing teams in delivering effective casework and litigation services related to leasehold and homeownership matters.

    You’ll play a key role in progressing legal action against leaseholders and homeowners in breach of their obligations, including arrears recovery, enforcement of lease terms, and dispute resolution. This is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience within a public sector legal setting while contributing to the fair and efficient management of Southwark’s housing portfolio.


    📋 Key Responsibilities

    • Support solicitors and litigation officers in managing homeownership-related legal cases

    • Assist with the preparation of legal documentation for court proceedings and tribunals

    • Maintain accurate case files, records, and correspondence

    • Liaise with internal teams, leaseholders, legal representatives, and external agencies

    • Support service charge recovery and enforcement processes

    • Prepare witness statements and evidence bundles for hearings

    • Attend court as appropriate and assist with case administration

    • Monitor deadlines, legal notices, and progress of cases


    👤 What We’re Looking For

    • Experience in a legal, housing, or property-related administrative role

    • Understanding of housing law, leasehold management, or litigation procedures (desirable)

    • Strong organisational and case management skills

    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

    • Confident communicator, both written and verbal

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and casework systems

    • A team player with a proactive and professional approach
